VIDEO: Canucks' Higgins scores on PP after Stars' Lehtonen loses stick

The Dallas Stars were already shorthanded in the second period of Saturday's game against the Vancouver Canucks when goaltender Kari Lehtonen lost his stick.

Lehtonen's stick was knocked out of his hands in a collision with a teammate while Alex Goligoski was serving a tripping penalty. Chris Higgins redirected a point shot by Dan Hamhuis past the stick-less Lehtonen to give the Canucks a 2-1 lead midway through the period.

The Stars might be upset with how Vancouver forward Alex Burrows knocked Lehtonen's loose stick below the goal line, making it almost impossible to retrieve, but officials saw no issue with the play.
