Letang required transport to the hospital Saturday after a scary hit in the second period of Saturday's game against the Coyotes, reports the Associated Press. He was shoved backwards in the boards by Shane Doan after the defender had flipped the puck out of the zone. He hit the back of his head on the boards.

Analysis:

Letang remained on the ice for several minutes and was attended by the team trainer and physician before teammates helped him off. The hit wasn't dirty; Letang was off balance and in an odd position near the boards. Letang's medical history -- concussions and a stroke -- make this situation a significant concern. '"We'll get an evaluation as to where everybody thinks he's at in the morning," Pens' head coach Mike Johnston said after the game.
