Shea Weber: (Lower Body) Won't Play Saturday

Weber will not play Saturday against the Capitals due to a lower-body injury, Adam Vingan of The Tennessean reports.

Analysis:

There wasn't any indication prior to pregame warmups that Weber was nursing an injury, but it looks like the ailment is serious enough to bump him from the lineup for the first time all season. The Predators are listing Weber as day-to-day, so it remains uncertain if he'll be able to return to action Sunday against the Flames. Weber, who has 15 goals, 45 points, and a plus-15 rating over 75 contests, will be replaced Saturday by Anton Volchenkov, who functions mostly as a stay-at-home defenseman.
