Henrik Lundqvist: Returns To Net Saturday

Coach Alain Vigneault confirmed that Lundqvist would return to the net Saturday afternoon against the Bruins, Newsday's Steve Zipay reports.

Analysis:

After he was activated from long-term injured reserve Wednesday, Lundqvist served as the backup goalie in his first game back Thursday against the Senators, but that was more of a measure to ease the netminder back into action after just under a two-month absence after taking a puck to the neck. With Vigneault quickly dismissing any goalie controversy by stating earlier this week that Lundqvist was still the team's No. 1 goaltender, expect the King to receive the lion's share of the starts in net the rest of the way as the Rangers look to chase down the Presidents' Trophy. Lundqvist owns a lofty 25-11-3 record to go along with a 2.20 GAA, .922 save percentage, and five shutouts over his 39 appearances this season.
