Canadiens' Smith-Pelly expected to be scratched Saturday vs. Panthers

Aaron Doster / USA TODAY Sports

It appears as though Devante Smith-Pelly has already played himself out of the Montreal Canadiens' lineup.

Skating without a line at Saturday's morning skate, Smith-Pelly is expected to be a healthy scratch as the Canadiens attempt to halt a two-game slide at home versus the Florida Panthers, according to multiple reports.

Smith-Pelly was reduced to less than nine minutes in Thursday's loss to the Winnipeg Jets

He's failed to produce a point over his last nine games and hasn't scored since being acquired from the Anaheim Ducks for Jiri Sekac.
