Sheahan will miss Saturday's game against the Lightning with an upper-body injury, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.

Analysis:

GM Ken Holland labeled Sheahan as day-to-day, so though it would seem unlikely, there's still a chance the forward could suit up Sunday in Long Island. Sheahan, who had been filling in for the injured Pavel Datsyuk (lower body) in the Red Wings' top-six ranks of late, had suited up in each of the team's previous 73 games this season, tallying 12 goals and 22 assists.
