Clarke MacArthur: (Concussion) Cleared To Play Saturday

MacArthur (concussion) was cleared to return to the lineup Saturday against the Maple Leafs, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. The Senators officially activated him from injured reserve Friday.

Analysis:

After practicing with the Senators on Friday and receiving clearance to travel with the team to Toronto, MacArthur learned that he passed the concussion test he took Thursday, which was the final hurdle he needed to clear in order to play again. Coach Dave Cameron didn't formally announce that MacArthur would return to the lineup Saturday, and with the Senators kicking off a back-to-back set, it's possible the team holds him out until Sunday's home date with the Panthers. However, with the injuries to both Milan Michalek and Matt Puempel compromising the Senators' depth on the wing, it seems more likely than not that MacArthur checks back in Saturday.
