Berra will be in the crease for Thursday's game against the Canucks, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.

Analysis:

Though coach Patrick Roy's initial schedule called for Varlamov to get the start Thursday, that plan changed when the goalie was pulled midway through the first period of Wednesday's loss to the Oilers after allowing three goals on seven shots. Berra played very well in relief of Varlamov with 26 saves on 27 shots, and with the Avs' playoff hopes effectively dashed with the loss, Berra could get some more work down the stretch. Berra has essentially been in Roy's doghouse all season, but with nine games remaining on the schedule, it's a good time for the organization to figure out what the lightly used netminder can do.
