Visnovsky (lower body) was able to get in a skate Thursday, but it's not clear when he might get back into the lineup.

Analysis:

Coach Jack Capuano indicated after Visnovsky's skate that there was "no rush" to get the blueliner any action, so it seems as though he'll be brought along slowly while he recovers from the injury. The former top-tier defenseman looks to be a shell of himself at this point, as health issues have limited him to a combined 105 games over the last three seasons. With the Islanders boosting more depth than ever on the blue line with this year's additions of Johnny Boychuk and Nick Leddy, the 38-year-old Visnovsky simply isn't needed to take on a large role.
