Report: Panthers interested in re-signing Jaromir Jagr

Robert Mayer / USA TODAY Sports

If the Jaromir Jagr fits, keep him.

That appears to be the line of thinking in Florida, as the Panthers are interested in re-signing the veteran forward during the offseason, according to George Richards of the Miami Herald.

The seemingly ageless one, however, is taking things one day at a time in the Sunshine State.

"My goal is just to help this team make the playoffs," Jagr said. "I never think about the future."

In 11 games with the Panthers, Jagr has recorded two goals and six assists, and his influence on young linemates Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau has been quite evident.

While Florida is unlikely to make the playoffs this season, re-signing Jagr could go a long way towards further success in 2015-16.
