The Minnesota Wild have added a piece for the future as the club continues to roll toward a playoff berth.

University of New Hampshire forward Grayson Downing signed a two-year entry-level contract beginning in 2015-16, the team announced Tuesday.

Downing scored 21 goals and added 15 assists in 38 regular-season games for UNH, and amassed 112 points and 120 penalty minutes in 144 games over his four years of college.

The British Columbia native will report to the AHL's Iowa Wild on an amateur tryout agreement for the remainder of this season.
