Analysis:

After being shut down in October following neck surgery, Erskine rejoined the Capitals two weeks ago and is now beginning to progress toward the finish line of his recovery process. The 34-year-old appears to have regained much of the strength that is essential to his hard-checking game, but it seems doubtful he'll be able to make a return to the lineup this season. Instead, Erskine is just looking toward getting himself close to full health before the start of the 2015-16 campaign.
