Toronto Maple Leafs forward Richard Panik has been fined $2,000 for embellishment stemming from an incident in Sunday's 4-0 loss to the Washington Capitals.

Capitals defenseman Mike Green was assessed a holding penalty in the second period after a minor collision with Panik near center ice.

Panik was given a warning for a previous incident against the Montreal Canadiens on Feb. 14.

Under the league's new diving and embellishment initiative, Rule 64, the second citation incurs a $2,000 fine. A third infraction would result in a fine of $3,000.
