Hammond was excellent again Tuesday, saving 36 of 38, but he took a 3-2 shootout loss to the Wild.

Analysis:

No shame in being outdueled by the new-look Devan Dubnyk in the shootout, but it makes for Hammond's first loss of the season. Even so, he played terrifically well again, which should at least force coach Dave Cameron to make hard choices between the surprising rookie and veteran Craig Anderson, who returned in a backup capacity Tuesday.
