Cody Eakin scores Stars' 1st home overtime goal in 3 years

Tim Heitman / USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Stars found a way to rebound after an unfortunate end to the third period.

After allowing the New York Islanders to tie the game at two with less than two seconds left in regulation, Jamie Benn and Cody Eakin teamed up to take advantage of a turnover and finish the game with two points.

The play was started by the captain, who bumped Ryan Strome off the puck and rushed down the ice before feeding the puck to Eakin for the one-timer.

Eakin's goal marked the first win for the club in overtime on home ice in quite some time, and kept Dallas' very slim playoff hopes alive.
