Dubnyk sets Wild record for straight starts by goalie in Stewart's debut

Sergei Belski / USA TODAY Sports

Devan Dubnyk is one of the hottest goaltenders in the NHL, recently being named as the first star for the month of February.

The Minnesota Wild netminder reached a franchise milestone Tuesday when he started in net against the Ottawa Senators, playing in his 21st straight start, a Wild record reports Michael Russo of the Star Tribune.

The news combined with the arrival of new acquisitions Chris Stewart and Jordan Leopold, as well as the home debut of Sean Bergenheim, made for an exciting night in Minnesota, who are in the midst of a playoff race and are trying to leave an incident from Saturday in the past.

Dubnyk is 15-3-1 with a 1.64 goals against average in 20 games for the Wild.
