The St. Louis Blues have acquired Zbynek Michalek from the Arizona Coyotes, the teams confirmed Monday.

Michalek, along with a conditional third-round draft pick in 2015, will net Arizona 19-year-old Maxim Letunov, another blue-chip prospect to add to their impressive deadline haul.

A second-round pick of the Blues last June, Letunov is the USHL's top-scorer with 22 goals and 53 points for the Youngstown Phantoms.

Arizona will retain 50 percent of Michalek's salary, per ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.

Currently sidelined with a concussion, Michalek has been one of the more effective Coyotes this season, boasting the team's top 5-on-5 Goals For percentage.

When each are prepared to return, Michalek and the injured Kevin Shattenkirk will join the likes of Alex Pietrangelo and Jay Bouwmeester to form one of the more formidable defense corps in the Western Conference.
