The Ottawa Senators reached uncharted territory with a 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.

The Senators are leaving California with three straight victories for the first time in franchise history after also defeating the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings. Ottawa defeated the Ducks 3-0 on Wednesday and downed the Kings 1-0 on Thursday.

Ottawa is on a five-game winning streak with Andrew Hammond in net. The streak has the Senators seven points out of the final Eastern Conference playoff spot with two games in hand on the Boston Bruins.
