Kinkaid (groin) will not be available to serve as the Devils' backup goalie Friday against the Bruins, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Analysis:

Kinkaid relayed that he was about "95 percent" recovered from his groin injury, but the Devils don't want to take any chances by having him serve as the understudy to Cory Schneider. On a positive note, Kinkaid will take part in the team's gameday skate, and if all goes well, he could be ready to go for Saturday's tilt with the Blue Jackets, though Schneider seems likely to start that game as well.
