Red Wings' Zetterberg expected to play Wednesday

Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sports

Detroit Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg may be ready to return from his upper-body injury next week, according to head coach Mike Babcock.

Zetterberg is expected to play in Wednesday's game against the New York Rangers, Babcock told reporters after the morning skate Thursday.

The forward skated for the first time since leaving Saturday's game against the Dallas Stars. He was hit in the side of the head by Stars forward Jamie Benn.

Zetterberg has 15 goals and 34 assists in 57 games.
