Sean Bergenheim: Traded to Wild

The Panthers traded Bergenheim and a 2016 seventh-round draft pick to the Wild on Tuesday in exchange for a 2016 third-round draft choice.

Analysis:

Bergenheim had been a healthy scratch for the last several games and had vented his frustration to Panthers management, who were willing to accommodate his wishes. The 30-year-old's arrival in Minnesota will help restore some depth on the wing, as the team is without all of Ryan Carter, Jason Zucker, and Matt Cooke to long-term injuries. Expect Bergenheim to serve in a third- or fourth-line role with his new club, which likely won't lend itself to much fantasy appeal. He's cobbled together eight goals and 18 points in 39 games for the Panthers this season.
