NHL Game Summary - Montreal at St. Louis

St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Galchenyuk posted two goals and an assist to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.

Brendan Gallagher had two goals while Michael Bournival also scored for the Canadiens, who have won their past two. Carey Price turned away 27 shots in the win.

"We're a very confident team when we go into an opposing team's building and we wind up playing the right way," Price said.

T.J. Oshie had a goal and an assist and David Backes also scored for the Blues, who have lost three of four. Jake Allen allowed all five goals on 23 shots in the loss.

"They made us pay and they sealed the game before we could really make that push," Backes said.

The only goal of the first period went to Montreal as P.K. Subban blasted a shot on net from the right point that Galchenyuk tipped in at 13:22.

It was Galchenyuk again at 3:11 of the second as Tomas Plekanec won a faceoff at the left circle and Galchenyuk circle around to a sharp angle at the left side before snapping it in for his 18th of the season.

The Blues got one back three minutes later as Backes finished off a nice passing play with a redirect down low for his 20th of the year.

Montreal got the goal back with 4:11 to play in the second as a 2-on-1 was finished off by Gallagher when he lasered a wrister in from the right win.

Less than a minute later, the Canadiens struck again when Bournival was sprung on a breakaway by a lead pass from Galchenyuk and he buried a shot past Allen for his third of the season.

Oshie scored just over a minute later when his one-timer from the high slot found its way through traffic for his 17th of the season.

Montreal sealed the win with a power-play goal and 4:13 showing on the clock as Gallagher swiped home a rebound from the right side.
