VIDEO - Mason on the mend: Flyers goalie makes series of stops to thwart Rangers

Bill Streicher / USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Steve Mason appeared no worse for wear in his first start since being sidelined with yet another lower-body bang-up.

Mason made not one, not two, but three saves on his former Columbus Blue Jackets mates during a mad scramble put forth by the New York Rangers late in the third period of Saturday's key Metropolitan Division matchup.

In the face of nine shot attempts in the video below, Mason's best came on Rick Nash, who was denied by a post-to-post stop that tested every fiber of Mason's damaged meniscus.

Mason made 34 stops for his 11th victory on the year.
