Avalanche's Iginla passes Recchi for 19th on all-time goals list

Colorado Avalanche forward Jarome Iginla took sole possession of 19th place on the NHL's all-time goals list Saturday.
Iginla scored his 578th career goal in the third period of Saturday's contest against the Dallas Stars to pass Mark Recchi. The unorthodox goal deflected in off his shin, but, as Iginla knows well, they all count.

Iginla also tied Vincent Damphousse for 45th in all-time points with 1,205.
The 37-year-old isn't likely to reach 18th place on the goals list before the end of the season. He is 23 goals shy of Jari Kurri, who holds 18th place with 601.
