Report: No hearing expected for Ducks' Kesler after hit on Dorsett

Ryan Kesler's elbow appears to have escaped the long arm of the NHL's law.

The Anaheim Ducks center will not face a hearing after a hit on Derek Dorsett of the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday, according to Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register.

Dorsett left the game with an apparent head injury, while Kesler was not penalized for the incident.

After the game, Kesler said there was no intent to injure on the play and that it was more a matter of happenstance.

"All I know is I was going for the puck and I felt him hit," Kesler said, according to NHL.com. "I hope he's all right. It's a fast game out there. I was just going for the puck, trying to make a hockey play. I didn't even see him I just saw the puck and he kind of ran into me. It wasn't malicious at all."
