Analysis:

Lapierre is the pure fourth-line center the Penguins needed, while Goc had struggled to adapt since arriving in a trade-deadline deal last season. Although Lapierre's no longer piling up the huge hit totals he provided as recently as a couple seasons ago, the center's speed and willingness to mix it up should make him a welcome addition. Just don't expect much offense from the 29-year-old, who has topped the 20-point mark just once in his nine NHL seasons.
