Neuvirth is dealing with a lower-body injury, the Sabres' official site reports.

Analysis:

Neuvirth suffered his injury "while working out during the All-Star break and will miss some time," GM Tim Murray relayed Monday. "He will not join the team for our trip out west this week," Murray added. With Neuvirth ailing, the Sabres have recalled fellow goalie Matt Hackett. Expect Jhonas Enroth to start the majority of the games though the Sabres will give Hackett, who recovered from ACL surgery over the summer, a chance to show what he can do. No return date has been announced for Neuvirth so consider him week-to-week.
