Johansen, Karlsson, Parise named NHL's 3 stars of the week

It was a week to remember for Ryan Johansen.

The Blue Jackets center was named most valuable player at the NHL All-Star Game in Columbus on Sunday, and his two goals and two assists in the exhibition match were enough to earn him the distinction of being named the first star of the week, the league announced Monday.

Johansen didn't record a point in two regular season games last week, but he was selected first at the Fantasy Draft and scored the winner in the Breakaway Challenge at the skills competition on Saturday.

The second star belongs to Erik Karlsson of the Ottawa Senators, who recorded three goals in two games prior to the break. The outburst lifted him to 11 goals in 46 games, marking the fourth time the defenseman has hit double digits in goals since entering the league in 2009.

Zach Parise of the Minnesota Wild earned the third star after also scoring three goals in two games. He found the back of the net in four straight games before the All-Star Game.
