Wild reassign Dumba to Iowa

Kevin Hoffman / USA TODAY Sports

Minnesota Wild blue-liner Matt Dumba was sent to Iowa of the American Hockey League after Tuesday's loss to the Detroit Red Wings, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Analysis:

This may be less of a demotion and more of a way to keep him playing during the All-Star break. Dumba wasn't active for Tuesday's game, but could get more ice time in the NHL in the second half of the season. He had an assist and was plus-3 in three games in January.
