Analysis:
Hodgson and linemates Phil Varone and Drew Stafford barely played in the first period as head coach Ted Nolan decided to roll three lines. Hodgson played just 5:57 the whole game and has been held without a point in his past 11 games. He has just six points this season. Hodgson has been a disaster since signing an extension worth $25.5 million in 2013. He's difficult to trade because of his contract, which means the Sabres will need to find a way to get him going. It's unlikely they'll find the answer this season, though.
