Canucks' Hansen did not play Monday, will undergo further evaluation

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

Vancouver Canucks forward Jannik Hansen did not play Monday against the Arizona Coyotes, despite the Canucks' confirmation to the contrary earlier in the day.

Hansen has been ruled out for the game and will require further evaluation despite all tests coming back normal, the team revealed, after consulting specialists.

The Canucks released the following statement on Monday evening:

In the process of reviewing Hansen's test results the Vancouver Canucks in consultation with specialists have determined that further evaluation is required before he is cleared to play. Despite all tests being reported as normal, additional tests were ordered in the best interests of Hansen's health and safety. As a result, Hansen will not dress in the Canucks game versus Arizona tonight.

Iain MacIntyre provided more on his condition.

Hansen collapsed on the bench during Saturday's game against the Calgary Flames

He was taken to hospital as a precaution and missed practice on Sunday.
