Chris Stewart believes he would be 'a good fit' with the Bruins

Chris Stewart can picture himself in black and gold.

As his Buffalo Sabres visited the Bruins on Sunday, the power forward was asked about various reports linking him to the Bruins in trade talks.

Stewart has heard the rumblings, and believes his style of play would mesh well with Claude Julien's system.

"I like to consider myself a hard-nosed player who can stick up for his teammates," Stewart told DJ Bean of WEEI. "If I do get open, I can put the puck in the net. So yeah, I think that could be a good fit."

Stewart has struggled through 33 games, recording three goals, four assists and a minus-15 rating. With the NHL's holiday trade freeze in effect, he's keeping his mind focused on helping turn things around in Buffalo.

"I'€™m just going to take it game-by-game here and worry about playing well for the Sabres," he said.

Stewart registered an assist and two shots on goal in the 4-3 overtime loss to his potential future employers.
