Analysis:

Nikitin's participation with the team gives him a shot at playing Sunday against the Stars, but it's more likely that the Oilers will want to see him practice one or two more times before activating him. The rearguard wasn't especially impressive prior to suffering the injury and may not be guaranteed a regular lineup spot upon his return.
