Blue Jackets' Jenner out 1-2 months due to stress fracture in back

Rick Osentoski / USA Today

The Columbus Blue Jackets were bitten by the injury bug again Saturday.

Boone Jenner is expected to miss at least a month after being diagnosed with a stress fracture in his back. The Blue Jackets placed Jenner on injured reserve and recalled Sean Collins from the AHL to take his roster spot.

Columbus is among the league leaders in man games lost to injury, which is part of the reason they are seven points out of a playoff spot after 31 games. Jenner was an important part of the team's recent turnaround, scoring five goals in eight December appearances.
