Predators waive Viktor Stalberg

The Nashville Predators have placed forward Viktor Stalberg on waivers with the intention of assigning him to the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals, the club announced Thursday.

Stalberg has missed six weeks of game action due to a knee injury, but is nearing a return to full health.

General manager David Poile hopes he will clear waivers and work his way back into the lineup through the club's AHL affiliate.

"A couple of injuries early in the season have prevented this from being the season Viktor trained all summer for," Poile said. "He has worked hard to return to the lineup ... the best option for Viktor and the organization at this time is to place Viktor on waivers with the hope that he will clear, go to Milwaukee to play games and continue his efforts to be ready for NHL game action."

Stalberg, who recorded eight goals and ten assists in 70 games for the Predators in 2013-14, is in the second season of a four-year, $12-million contract.
