Wild recall Curry after Kuemper, Backstrom hit with stomach bug

Brace Hemmelgarn / USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Wild's goaltending situation is a bit hard to stomach.

With both Darcy Kuemper and Niklas Backstrom questionable for Wednesday's game against the Boston Bruins with stomach ailments, John Curry has been recalled from AHL Iowa.

Kuemper was too sick to play in Tuesday's loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. He was replaced by Backstrom, who then fell ill himself after the first period but remained in the game, according to Chad Graff of the Pioneer Press.

Curry has six career appearances on his NHL resume, with three wins and a save percentage of .893.
