Darling was reassigned to AHL Rockford on Wednesday, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.

Analysis:

After starting the Blackhawks' first four games following Corey Crawford's foot injury and playing generally well, Darling looked like he might stick around as the team's top backup over Antti Raanta once Crawford returned. However, Raanta ended up drawing the team's most recent two starts and acquitted himself well, so it looks like he'll stay with the Blackhawks while Darling settles for regular duty at Rockford. Overall on the season, Darling owns a 5-2-0 record, 1.97 GAA and .937 save percentage across seven outings with the parent club.
