Blackhawks reassign Darling to AHL

Greg M. Cooper / USA Today

Scott Darling's brief, impressive stint in the NHL has come to an end - for now.

The Chicago Blackhawks reassigned the netminder to the AHL following Tuesday's game with starting goaltender Corey Crawford set to return to the lineup. Darling was 5-2-0 in seven games with Chicago, posting a 1.97 goals-against average and .937 save percentage.

Crawford is expected to be ready when the Blackhawks play their next game Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Darling, 25, was 8-2-1 in the AHL before being called up.
