Jets' Trouba out until February with upper-body injury

Bruce Fedyck / USA TODAY Sports

The Winnipeg Jets got some coal in their stocking Tuesday.

Head coach Paul Maurice announced that defenseman Jacob Trouba will be out of the lineup until February with an upper-body injury.

The 23-year-old, drafted ninth overall in 2012, was averaging 23:34 in ice time, with four goals and eight assists in 31 games.

The good news: the injury won't require surgery.
