Bruins' Zdeno Chara: 'I've got to be better'

The record is there in plain sight.

This season, the Boston Bruins have won just four games with Zdeno Chara in the lineup, a record of futility the mountainous captain won't attribute to chance.

"The first guy, I’m looking at myself," Chara said via CSNNE. "I've got to be better and I have to work to be at the top of my game. When you’re not scoring, that means defensively you just have to be better to defend games like this."

"Every part of my game (needs improvement). There are no excuses. Like I said after my first game, I missed whatever time, but I have to work very hard to get where I want to be and I will get there."

Chara skated to four wins in 10 games to start the season before tearing a ligament in his knee Oct. 23. The Bruins have suffered a pair of 3-2 defeats since his return.
