Wild defeat Stars despite allowing 4 unanswered goals

Jerome Miron / USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Stars scored four goals unanswered against the Minnesota Wild on Friday night and still found a way to lose, which rather effectively sums up their season.

Dallas fell behind 3-0 and was without a pulse mid-way through the game before exploding for three goals in roughly three-and-a-half minutes late in the second frame.

The Stars briefly took the lead in the third on an Alex Goligoski goal, but Thomas Vanek scored with less than two minutes remaining to send the game to overtime.

In the overtime period it was Marco Scandella - who now has five goals on the season and is playing some extremely competent hockey - who gave the Wild the victory. While Scandella was the hero, the Zach Parise pass that set up his goal was rather impressive.
