Lightning's Drouin will be a healthy scratch Wednesday

When the Tampa Bay Lightning host former captain Martin St. Louis and the New York Rangers at Amalie Arena on Wednesday night, St. Louis's heir apparent will not be in uniform.

The Lightning will scratch hot-shot rookie forward Jonathan Drouin as well as checking forward J.T. Brown against the Rangers, according to Bryan Burns of the club's official website.

Drouin, 19, has appeared in 16 games for the Lightning this season. He's mostly played a third-line role, while getting the occasional look on the power play.

While he's been enormously productive in limited minutes, Drouin's two-way game could use some polish, and most of his regular linemates have fared better by shot attempt differential with Drouin off the ice.

Vladislav Namestnikov and Brenden Morrow will be inserted into the lineup in their place.

All of this poses the question: What's deeper, Tampa Bay's forward group, or the sense Lightning fans have of St. Louis's betrayal?
