Analysis:

Ovechkin will make the trip to New York and head coach Barry Trotz expects the reigning Richard Trophy winner to play, but given how important Ovechkin is to the Capitals, expect them to take every precaution. An ailment might explain Ovechkin's recent inconsistency, as he has gone without a point in four of his last five games. Even at less than full health, Ovechkin is a multi-category stud who needs to be played whenever he is in the lineup, so keep an eye on his availability prior to Wednesday night.
