GM Peter Chiarelli indicated Monday that he is hopeful that Chara (knee) can return to action in 10-to-14 days, nesn.com reports.

Analysis:

Chara, who suffered a PCL tear in his left knee on Oct. 23, skated Monday, and while a return to action is not imminent for the blueliner, he is clearly progressing. "Usually, when they start skating, it's at the earliest at 10 days (and) at the latest two weeks when he's been out that long," Chiarelli noted Monday. "I haven't been given a timetable. We just have to see how he progresses from day to day. But I think you can probably say 10 days to two weeks."
