The San Jose Sharks were going to have a tough time rebounding from becoming just the fourth team ever to lose a seven-game playoff series after winning the first three games one season ago, and now, their coach may be on the hot seat after a poor start to the season.

Coach Todd McLellan was asked about the clubs 10-9-4 record (2-3-2 at home) and recognized he may be in trouble if the team doesn't start to win hockey games, according to a report in the San Jose Mercury News.

"I feel confident with myself and the coaching staff, but I'm also a realist," McLellan said. "I know that the team hasn't performed to the level that any of us are happy with — not just ownership and management, but also coaches and players aren't happy with the results."

"I understand the business," McLellan said, "but I can tell you that we show up for work every day and that we put our work boots on and we try to make this group better. And we will over time. We just have to keep at it and see where it goes from there."

The Sharks next game is Wednesday night at home against the Calgary Flames.
