Halak secures shutout, Tavares scores shootout winner over Flyers

Steve Mason was absolutely sensational Monday night, but even when they don't score, it's impossible to slow the New York Islanders' current roll.

The Flyers goaltender made 46 saves to force the shootout, but after Frans Nielsen finally solved Mason, Halak upstaged his counterpart with this stop on Glaude Giroux. 

Moments later, Islander captain John Tavares utilized every move in his repertoire to seal New York's 15th win in 21 games - a franchise best start.
