Report: Henrik Tallinder skating with Rangers' AHL affiliate on pro tryout

After whiffing on Tomas Kaberle, the New York Rangers have moved on to another veteran rearguard.
Veteran D Henrik Tallinder on PTO with NYR AHL affiliate in Hartford. Expected to play some games there, see where it goes after that.

Tallinder was signed to a similarly risk-free deal by the Toronto Maple Leafs in training camp, but was set free after suffering a shoulder injury in the preseason.
A veteran of 12 seasons, he suited up in 64 games for the Buffalo Sabres last year, scoring eight points and finishing with a minus-21 rating.
