Grabner (sports hernia) is now looking unlikely to play before Thanksgiving, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Analysis:

Grabner looked like he might be activated from IR to make his season debut over the weekend, but he's apparently not progressing as the Islanders hoped at this point. The winger wasn't able to skate Saturday morning, prompting coach Jack Capuano to say that Grabner would be reevaluated Monday. Grabner contributed 12 goals and 26 points over 64 games in 2013-14, so he could represent a decent third-line option for the Islanders once he's healthy.
