Colorado Avalanche forward Alex Tanguay took an Alex Ovechkin slap shot to the face on Thursday night, and head coach Patrick Roy said Tanguay will miss at least one game as a result.

Tanguay left the game after the injury occurred in the second period and did not return.

He is out indefinitely, according to Adrian Dater of the Denver Post.

The veteran winger, who is celebrating his 35th birthday on Friday, has seven goals and four assists in 20 games this season.
