The Dallas Stars are reportedly set to announce a long-term contract extension for center Jason Spezza.

The Stars are expected to announce a four-year, $30-million extension for Spezza on Friday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.

The deal ensures Spezza will remain a Star through the 2018-19 season, according to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.

The 31-year-old Spezza is a pending unrestricted free agent. He's in the final year of the seven-year, $49-million deal signed with the Ottawa Senators in 2007.

He was traded to the Stars last summer along with forward Ludwig Karlsson for  forwards Alex Chiasson, Alex Guptill and Nick Paul as well as a second-round draft pick in 2015.

Spezza has four goals and 14 assists in 20 games this season.
